Common Questions & Answers:
The event is from November 7th - 10th, 2022
No unfortunately it is not. You are responsible for booking your own travel arrangements. Please see above for local airport and flight details.
This is a large camp. But it is a true camp-style scenario, similar to a summer camp you may have gone to as a child.
We have enough cabins to make sure each workshop participant has their own bed in an air conditioned cabin with a bathroom and shower!
To accommodate this everyone will need to have at least one "bunk mate". Some cabins have multiple rooms and in these rooms you may find two beds. Some cabins sleep 4 people in a room and one sleeps 6.
If you prefer privacy over “creature comforts” there are a dozen “primitive cabins” available. These cabins all feature multiple beds, heaters and ceiling fans. BUT They DO NOT have climate control* or their own bathrooms.
In addition, there are two shared bathhouses on the camp site. Each bathhouse is divided into Men's & Women's rooms. Each side features 4 sinks, 4 private toilet stalls and 4 private shower stalls with individual change areas.
*NOTE: We will be bringing in a few portable A/C units for a select number of the primitive cabins but there may not be enough to accommodate everyone if you opt for a primitive room.
There will be no co-ed "bunk mates" unless you bring a paid guest/family member in which case we will do our best to keep you together. (NOTE: This may require staying in a primitive cabin).
Yes. Due to the size of the camp we are able to accommodate guests that are not participating in the workshop. However, due to event planning and food logistics we will be charging $500 for guests as we will still provide them with all meals and any needed transportation to off site events that we may participate in as a group. If you have any questions, please CONTACT US
As stated above, bringing a guest may require staying in a primitive cabin. BUT, we will do our best to accommodate.
You must be at least 18 years old by date of event. Age verification will be required before event dates.
You must be in good walking health. We will be working outdoors for most of the day. You must be able to do some light hiking and able to walk short to medium distances. If you are unsure please don't hesitate to CONTACT US
We strongly recommend that you bring your own art supplies that you are comfortable with. We highly suggest water based media such as watercolor and gouache. You might also want to bring charcoal, pencil and other drawing utensils. We will have limited paper on hand but you will want to have your own sketchbooks as well.
NOTE ON FLYING WITH PAINT: It is strongly advised that if you fly with paint you put it in your checked bag. If you attempt to transport it in your carry-on bag it may be confiscated.
Not officially. The focus of this trip is on "Traditional Media" - However, if you wish to work on an iPad or similar portable tablet that is up to you.
Not this time no.
