The King of the Elves -Elves/Hidden Creature designs.

These are a series of characters I designed for a film I was developing a few years ago. Creating fantasy creatures like these is a joy for me. When I was young growing up in the Everglades of south Florida I spent a large amount of time out in the swamps and forests drawing and painting. I often imagined that there were creatures there that I couldn’t see. I’d like to add that these were all done well before Avatar.

  1. Just beautiful. Magical, emotional, nature-honouring. What a lot of work you put into these … Seems a shame that like new leaves coming every spring, that this project couldn’t be revivified and ‘greened’ again … especially in the current desperate need for trees to be planted, wild woods to be protected, forests to flourish and diversity of habitat to keep diversity of life in it … Guardians of wild places, genius loci … elves, tomte, fey, sidhe, hikey sprites … all associated with the survival of a wild place and the survival of the creatures that live in it – including the humans …
