Miss Violet Hand Drawn Animation

This is a little bit of animation that I did a little while back. Miss Violet is based on my old dog. She was such a sweetheart and so much fun. This story was developed by myself along with the incredible Vedanta Sproston and my business partner, Nick Burch. I had so much fun putting this together. I hope you enjoy it.

The plan is to fo more of these in the near future.

  1. Hi Aaron I just found you on YouTube so glad I did I’m gonna make this short I’m a novice artist mostly horses my problem is the confirmation I get pretty well, it’s the placement of the eye on the head I can draw a realistic eye of the horse alone, but when I put it on the horse head I’m never happy with how it looks, is there some rule of thumb you use for placement of the eye on a horse head?
Just wanted to let you know I followed along with you drawing your lion I quickly sketched it and followed what you were doing and I’m pretty proud of how it turned out not bad for 20 minutes I haven’t use charcoal pencils in so long and never used tinted paper so as of right now I just ordered some ! Thanks for putting your tutorials tutorial online yours was so much easier to follow than others.
Do you give classes in Fl? I live in North Port I would be very interested👍
    Thanks again

    1. Hi Kim, this isn’t Aaron obviously, but I thought I might give you a heads up on some really great animal instruction. Aaron of course is great, but you also might want to check out “The Famous Artist School ” books, specifically the one on How to Draw Animals , printed in 1983. That should help a lot with the horses, and any other quadruped in general. Hope this helps, and good drawing to you.

  2. Hi Aaron it’s me again I should’ve wrote it down at the time but I didn’t I do have the jelly rolls pens in white I’m not impressed they don’t show up very well over top of pencil or charcoal, you suggested something else at the time you were drawing your lion picture please let me know what that was I have white charcoal to doesn’t seem to work either I have prisma colors, pastel pencils and white Faber Castel none of them seem to do the job what I have been doing is using condensed white watercolor which can’t be blended
    (novice ) lol
