Cheetah of the Maasai Mara captures a moment of alert stillness as the animal surveys its surroundings from within tall grass. Set against a clean blue sky, the composition emphasizes both the elegance and power of one of Africa’s most iconic predators.
Painted in acrylic on Bristol board, the piece features confident brushwork, layered color, and crisp detail that bring out the distinctive patterning and structure of the cheetah.
About the Painting
Aaron Blaise has spent decades studying and painting wildlife, with a particular focus on capturing the anatomy, gesture, and personality of animals in their natural environment.
In this piece, the contrast between the soft sky and the textured grasses helps frame the subject, while the detailed treatment of the coat and facial features draws the viewer’s eye to the cheetah’s focused expression.
