Digital Painting Demo / Tutorial

Well, I’ve been very busy lately working on new premium courses including my newly released “Figure Drawing Course” and my upcoming Character Design Course… But, I wanted to take a little time out and work on a new image. Plus, I wanted to create a new free digital painting demo.

Often when I post my SPEED PAINT VIDEOS and time lapses I get requests for something in real time. So, here it is:

I got this idea for a fun elephant image which I call “Sri Lanka Afternoon” – I wanted to share it with you. It was a quick image but I had a lot of fun with it. Hopefully you enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Final Digital Painting Demo Image:

A high-res version of the final image is below.

This image was created in Adobe Photoshop CC – It took just about 2 hours to create.

  3. I have just discovered your page and absolutely love this video. Speed paintings are fine, but I got a huge amount out of watching this and understanding why you do things and the whole thought process behind the art work.
I have just bought some of your videos and brushes, so I may find my answer there but I just wondered if you are able to tell me which brushes you used in this painting and also if there is a reason you use photoshop over corel painter?

Hope you do more of these!

  4. I have as of late discovered your page and totally venerate this video. Speed masterful manifestations are fine, be that as it may I got a tremendous total out of watching this and understanding why you complete things and the whole perspective behind the show-stopper.
